A clear look at what we collect and how we use it when you visit NailzExtensions.
Hi, it's Nikki again. I know privacy policies usually read like something a lawyer wrote in a hurry, so I've tried to explain this one the way I'd explain it to a friend. NailzExtensions is a small, independent nail blog, and this page covers exactly what information gets collected when you visit, why, and what say you have in it. If anything here is unclear, just email me — I'll happily explain it in plainer terms.
What Information We Collect
I try to keep this simple. Depending on how you use the site, a little information may be collected in these ways:
- Information you give us directly — like your name and email address, if you fill out our contact form or leave a comment on a post.
- Information collected automatically — basic technical details such as your browser type, device, approximate location (city or country level), and which pages you visited. This comes from standard analytics tools and helps me understand what content is actually useful.
- Cookies — small files stored in your browser that remember preferences and help the site run smoothly. More on this in Section 3.
How We Use This Information
Nothing sold, nothing mysterious. The information collected is used to:
- Reply to your messages when you contact us through the form or email
- Understand which guides and topics are genuinely helpful, so I can write more of what people actually need
- Keep the site working properly across different browsers and devices
- Show relevant advertising that helps keep this site free to read (more in Section 4)
Cookies & Analytics
Like most websites, NailzExtensions uses cookies — small text files saved on your device. We use them for two main things:
- Analytics — tools like Google Analytics help me see, in general terms, how many people visit and which pages they read. This data is anonymized and grouped; I don't see who you are personally.
- Functionality — remembering small preferences so the site feels smoother on repeat visits.
You can turn cookies off any time through your browser settings. The site will still work, though a few features may feel a little less smooth.
Advertising
NailzExtensions is a small independent site, and advertising is one of the ways it stays free for everyone to read. We may work with advertising partners, such as Google AdSense, who can use cookies to show ads that are more relevant to you based on your browsing activity across different sites.
These advertising partners have their own privacy policies covering how they handle data. If you'd prefer not to see personalized ads, you can adjust this through Google's Ads Settings or your browser's cookie preferences.
Links to Other Sites & Embeds
Some pages include content from other platforms — for example, our Pinterest boards embedded directly on the site, or links out to other websites we mention in our guides. Once you interact with that embedded content or click through to another site, you're covered by that platform's own privacy policy, not ours. I'd encourage a quick look at their policies too, since I can't control how they handle your data.
Your Choices & Rights
You're always in control of your own information. Specifically, you can:
- Ask what information, if any, we hold that's linked to you (for example, from a contact form submission)
- Ask us to correct or delete that information
- Opt out of cookies through your browser at any time
- Unsubscribe from any emails using the link included in the message, if you've signed up for updates
To make any of these requests, just email us — details are at the bottom of this page.
Children's Privacy
NailzExtensions is intended for a general audience and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
As the site grows, this page might need small updates — for example, if we add a new tool or work with a new advertising partner. Whenever that happens, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, so you can always check back and know exactly where things stand.
Still have a question about your data? I'm genuinely happy to answer it directly.
